Not sure I really love this. It didn't turn out how I envisaged it in my head. Anyway... I expect someone will love it enough to buy it at some stage! :-)

It's from a photo taken by my DH at our 'local' beach on the south coast of England. I've searched my files but I can't find the photo! Aaargh!

I used batting for the foaming waves and drier lint (!) for the stormy sky. That was fun! I just teased it out and laid it on there then FMQd over it with my big disc foot to keep it all in place. Thank you for looking. It's 44" by 15" :D

EDIT It really IS square, honest, it looks warped in the photo!

Very nice! And very creative!

This reminds me of some of my favorite novels, all set in England.

Very creative and interesting work! I wish I could see the quilt in person as it's a little difficult from your posted picture. I've been to Lyme Regis and love that area of the country.

Thanks, it's really beautiful isn't it? That whole Jurassic Coast. I'll try and take some better pics tomorrow in daylight and some close ups of the lint! :D

And as this thread has so far had 165 views and only 7 posts (some mine!) I guess I'm not the only one who thinks it's pants!

where to begin?

very creative, as usual, and unexpected in the execution. it really does capture the rocky coast. yes, show the waves and the sky.
it almost has the feeling of the block-benders in that it 'shapes' the cliffs.

how long did it take you?

(are those cliffs? i'm totally unfamiliar with that geography.)

Talk about recycling! Who, but a quilter, could find a use for dryer lint?

Photos do strange warpy things.

I am so impressed. You used batting and dryer lint to get the effect you wanted.
