This is my second bigger top (3rd top, total). I call it "In and Out of Love because that is just how I felt about this one. It's for my MIL for Christmas. Big oops, though...it was meant to be a lap/throw quilt...and it covers the mattress on my queen size bed!!!! Guess it's become a bed quilt for the IL's double...

I need some help deciding the on border though...below are pictures of the thoughts I have...any other suggestions? I plan to bind it in white.

I would use a darker brown.

I would consider the dark color of the leaves in the focal fabric. Just a thought. The green would work, or a gray in the light fabric.

when I make a warm wishes quilt I use a border of the center strip fabric, that's the only one that isn't already on the outside, and I make it twice as wide as it is in the strip., nice quilt BTW.

That's a great idea and will work well with this because it's a medium color. I like to use medium-dark colors for borders and always a medium-dark color for the binding because the binding will get the most wear/tear and dirt.

I agree with using a darker green or brown, something that you did not use in the quilt. Even if you just make a narrow border, maybe l.5 to 2 inches and then use one of the fabrics in the quilt. I do not like my first border fabric to be something I used in the quilt as it might touch the same fabric in the quilt and then they run together and distorts the pattern, but that's just me.
