Default A $10 vintage Scrappy Quilt that was almost ruined.

About 5 years ago I purchased this quilt at the Canton Flea market. It was very dirty with large numbers written with Magic Marker and black rubber marks from grocery carts all over the top. I absolutely loved this quilt and was determined to get the black off. I have no clue how many times it was soaked and washed and I used every known cleaner there is, but it finally came off. It is so much prettier in person and it is completely quilted by hand. It is all HST's and the maker had to have a design wall to do it properly. I sure wish there was a label so I could thank the woman. I just wonder how could anyone do that to a quilt like this ? Hope you enjoy. BTW, each HST is about 2 inches sewed.

Great quilt and glad you could rescue it! I don't know how someone could do that a quilt either.

Gorgeous quilt! I am so happy that you saved it. What are people thinking?---Obviously they are NOT thinking.

Truly an example of "People do the best they can at their level of consciousness." We quilters would know better. Thank you for rescuing this beautiful piece of art! Someone spent a lot of time on it.

Talk about perseverance!!! You must have almost as much work in this beauty as the original maker.
