Default mug rugs for local friends

I made a Valentine gift for my dear friend who owns the LQS (the store's anniversary is Valentines Day). Then I made a pot holder for a swap. I was just thinking about other people who are important in my life when DH suggested I make little gifts for local friends. Here they are, 4 mug rugs for local friends. (all from my scrap bins, with ugly old dish towels for batting)

The butterfly is for the sweet former neighbor who dragged me to my first quilting class.

So cute, they will love them. I love that you made your mats round. May I 'borrow" your idea? Having 3 gals over for lunch just before Valentine's Day and I think a cute round Valentine Mug Mat would be a nice little gift for each of them. May in Jersey

Thank you all for your comments. I simply used a Dresden Plate pattern for these, so there is nothing really new in my design. I marked them by drawing around a salad plate then turned them right side out thru the center hole. The hardest part was selecting the scraps that would suit each of my friends. They go quite quickly. For any who have not done a Dreden plate, they are MUCH easier to do with paper piecing. I decided that pointy or scalloped outer edges were an unneeded complication.
