Default 2 Quilts for the Humboldt Broncos

Hardly anyone in Canada was not stunned by the tragedy of April 6 when a bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos Hockey team was broadsided by a transport trailer. 16 died and many more are still in hospital. The call went out from the local CQA members for quilts and quilt blocks. A good friend assembled two which I gladly quilted for her. After they are bound they will be shipped to Saskatchewan where they will hopefully aid in comforting those involved.

What a special gift those quilts will be for the members that receive them. May they be comforted when wrapped in your quilts.

That accident and the results will be felt by that community for years. The quilts will be comforting for those affected to hold onto as they work through their grief. Thank you for helping them.

Beautiful quilts. I assume these are the team colors? So nice of you to participate in such a great cause.

MaryKatherine,

Those quilts are lovely.

Wendy at Haus of Stitches in Humbolt is a lovely lady and her shop is accepting donations of completed quilts, blocks and donations for backing and batting. The goal is to have enough quilts for the survivors, the Families of the living and dead, and the first responders.

It was a terrible accident that has had a huge impact across Canada. Many have either travelled on a team bus, or put our own children on one. The thought that they may not come home from a game (or in this case not make it to the game) is devastating.
