Mattie Rhoades' Quiltsmart 48-inch Mariner's Compass I put together last weekend; finally got to bind it yesterday. I made it to hang in my upstairs landing once we finish painting the walls. Looks like I should have ironed the wall-hanging before taking photograph... oh well!

If you haven't tried Mattie's patterns, I highly recommend them.
In the past I have made small mariner's compasses (pp for clothing, handbags, and small wall-hangings) but decided to try this when I saw the size was perfect for the landing. I'm glad I did.

My youngest son and his fiancé asked that I make them a very large lone star quilt. So I will use Mattie's 58-inch lone star pattern as the quilt center. They'll be visiting this weekend so I plan to get their color choices before they head back home to MA. Then my fun begins!

Thank you so much for posting this. I saw Mattie's pattern some time ago then forgot where...and forgot her name! This is what I have been looking for. It's beautiful.
