I thought I'd share this quilt with everyone. It was fun to make. My daughter is a 4th grade teacher. She wanted to do something fun with her class. She had them draw and color in a picture of themselves with permanent fabric markers on a square of fabric. She then turned the squares over to me. I had seen a photo of something similar in an old Oriental Trading Co. catalog and this is my version. The quilt was on display in the school office for a few months until May 2009, at which time it was taken down. Each child was able to present their square to their Mom's on Mother's Day. From what I understand, there were a few tears from some of those Mom's.
Hope you like it!

That is so cool!!! I would have been one of the mom's with the tears. What a great idea.

What a great idea and such a thoughtful way to give their Mom's something on their special day that they'll treasure forever.

What a great idea!! I had thought of proposing this type of idea to my daughters girl scout troop, I may have to steal how you did it!
