Default 6 Grandkids, 6th Quilt ready for LA, but not an Irish Chain

After posting the Celestial Garden, I made the remark that the last one would be an Irish Chain with JD tractors. NOT to be. He spotted a deer panel and declared it to be "the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen. Will you please make one like that for me." So scrapped the Irish Chain, and here's the deer quilt ready for the longarmer. The fourth one is yet to be bound, and then I will be done. Ahead of time, I am thinking. This is my own design as you will probably be able to tell. I went to the cache site and choose wildlife-related blocks, hence log cabin blocks, fussy cut stars with wildlife pictures in the center, paper pieced pines, etc. He is an artistic little soul and loves blue so I went that route. Used scraps and purchased some stonehenge for those FG. I hope he will like it. The back is fleece camouflage. The irony is that this kid is not a hunter like his little cousin.

I had commented about the rock fabric in another quilt posting, and a very nice lady from Ponca City, OK went to the LQS and bought this fat quarter and sent it to me. I thought it very appropriate for a mountain, and used it in many other blocks. So, thank you lady. Hope you enjoy looking at this quilt.
I am sure it won't pass the design police, but I think he will like it.

Who cares about the design police, your grandson should be able to see your love for him by just looking at the quilt you created for him, by listening to him instead of following a strangers ideas of what would look good. I think you did a great job and you should have a very happy grandson.

"Stop right there. This is the design police...You have made a gorgeous quilt!!! ." hehehehe
You should be very proud of it and I am sure your grandson is going to love it!

I have a piece/panel of moose fabric that my DH choose and never could figure out what to do with it. Looking at your beautiful quilt has given me a direction to go in.

Thanks for sharing this great quilt!

Anita

P.S. I am not a real quilt policeman, I just play one on television....LOL
