70 Mugrugs, a quilt, and a doorhanging!
I posted a few months back about a project I was going to tackle; making 70 mug rugs for my preschoolers to give to their moms for Mother's Day. It did get finished, I only wish I had set them up for better pictures!
The kids got to choose their fabrics, then stamp their handprints with fabric paint. Then we attached a mug rug poem and a biscotti to each. We put them out for our open house, when their parents picked up their garden stones and canvas abstract paintings as well. They were a huge hit!
Here is my stack, all cut and ready to assemble.

And everything on display for the parents. The mug rugs are on the bench seats.

I also donated a Paris-themed baby quilt that the school gave away. We entered all parents that attended in a drawing. The mom that won is expecting her second child (a girl) in June. A few of the other kids and parents were disappointed they didn't win it!
It looks wonky in the picture, but it wasn't. It's the comfy 'fluffy-stuffed' type, with a purple minky backing.

Lastly, after all of this sewing I decided to make something for myself. So I made a summer doorhanging! I used some scrap fabric strips for the flip-flops, and heavy ric-rac for the flip-flop straps. Quilting the sand took a while, but I love how it turned out!

Feedback is appriciated, as always!
