I just got a French Braid book and did a design using flowered and Fusions fabric and then thought that it might be the perfect design for my son and his girlfriend. I had asked them what colors they want and they said red/white/black/grey. I showed my son the After Hours fabric at Connecting Threads when he was here a few days ago and he liked it.

I did this in EQ6 using the fabric and placed the order today. They have a jelly roll of the 19 fabrics for $10, I ordered 2 of them (darn, just realized that probably isn't enough). I may add another braid strip to make it a little larger. I orderd the solid black, Martini Black, Dizzy, and Big Band for the borders, center strips, and end triangles.

    For the borders and strips

I ordered some fabric from that line too. I was a tad disappointed that the blacks in the fabric weren't really black, but a dark charcoal. So, they don't really mesh with other fabrics I was planning on using with them that are straight black, white and red. Don't get me wrong, they're gorgeous, but aren't true to the color pictured.

Thanks for the info. I don't plan on adding other fabrics so it doesn't make a difference to this design.

Yes, they're a perfect line used together. And of course the quality is very nice! I think my favorite fabric from the line is the flower one you have as your border. I think I bought 3 yards of that one;>

I ordered 3 yards too for the border so it doesn't have to be pieced.

I love your quilt! Would you mind if I asked where you got the pattern for the French Braid? Love it!
I have lots of scraps, still, after 2 scrap quilts. Does it have to be just certain colors, or can it be all scraps?
I am trying to figure out what I will make with more scraps. I think they multiply at night, or when I am not looking.

I got the book French Braid Quilts at Amazon. I think there are probably lots of free ones out there since it's a pretty standard pattern.
