ok you sew 6- 2in strips toghther but how did you cut them at a slant?

Actually you use 7 strips. I am posting pictures to show how I moved my templet.
I will edit the pictures after they load.

In this pic. my center line (the dotted line not the solid line) on the templet is between the 2 dark colors. Cut out the SQ and then move the templet down or up, depending on where you started.

and in this 1 the center line (the dotted line) is berween the cream and the pink. As you can see I kept moving the templet back and forth to one side or the other of the pink with the dark flowers.

My strips were the width of fabric. There is little waste for me because I use all the left overs for scrappies. By the time I throw my left overs away they are less than a 1/2in in size.
