Americana quilt
Our preacher will be celebrating 10 years with our congregation this weekend. We have planned a surprise celebration for him - telling him it's a Christmas pot luck dinner held early to avoid all the holiday events. I have quilts for both him and his wife.
THe wife's best friend told me that she'd appreciate an "Americana" quilt. I'm hoping this fills the bill. I had charm squares and a jelly roll from Missouri Quilt Co's daily deals. I used half of each - and filled in with the marbled blue and red. (These precuts had 2 of each print and ... I didn't want to use doubles. That just means I can make soemthing else with the rest someday.) I had fun playing with my new-found FMQ skills. It's about 65X75 - I made the top and bottom borders bigger since I prefer rectangular to square and it was sure looking square to me.
This is the kind of project where I started with a tiny idea and then made the rest up as I went.
Hmmmm - I thought I'd posted about his quilt earlier, but can't find it. Have to see if I have pictures - take some if I don't - and add it later.
