I finished the denim quilt for my friends little boy Jake, he is 5 today. The backing is flannel, and for the quilting is his name stitched into it in BIG BLOCK LETTERS, but you can't really see it in the photos :(

My brother and I went to his party today, his Mom and Dad had rented a 'party bus' - a double decker bus that had been refitted as a soft adventure play area, complete with a slide and a ball pool. He had a great time with all his friends, and I had a nice time playing with his younger brother Lewis who is 18 months. Jake took his presents away to open at home, so I don't have a pic of him with it yet.

Very nice. Have been saving old ripped jeans for one of these myself. I see it has gotten the seal of approval from the cat. Always important.

    I love your car too!

Love the quilt! I really like the backing on it, too. Great job. I laughed at the pic with the cat stretching. Why do they feel the need to do that on what is lying on the floor? I was taking a picture of my black and white swap and my old female cat just stretched and yawned and stretched some more on top of the blocks. Now tell my why that is so important?!

The very first quilt I made (for personal therapeutic reasons) was out of old jeans. My son still has it and says he "treasures" it. Many years later, I'm ready to do another one -- this time for fun. I have two huge garbage bags stuffed with old, used jeans. Just don't know when I'll get around to gettng it done.

    I like your car also....
As well as the cat seems to love the denim quilt...
My mom made my son one years ago..then she put 'patches' from places around here...local police department, my dad worked for Gulf oil, so she used one from his uniform, seed company...all different ones. It is VERY heavy...but he loved it. I think it will last....almost forever!!
