Why not go back with a metallc embroidery thread and add a fancy stitch at the hem line? Straighten that out real quick!

You could sew a strip of narrow lace along that line and no one would know the hems are quite as straight as you would like for them to be. Darling table runner.

Default With lace and a stocking

Thanks for the great ideas. I used the 'add lace' suggestion and this is the result.

I also completed the stocking to match.

I think your runner is beautiful. It will look lovely on your holiday table! Also, thanks for the link, I adore the Christmas scrappy quilt and going to start gathering my fabrics now!
