Finished the second of 6 rows of blocks except for the top log strip that I can't reach comfortably until I roll it. I'm doing an outline of the center star that the blocks make so that it stands out more.

I'm not sure when I finished the first row and I think it took me a week. Probably more than a week to do this one since I was working on finishing another top. Not in a race but my tops are backing up on me waiting for the frame.

I know how you feel! It takes SOOOO long to quilt a top, and there's always another one (or two or three or four) waiting! But it's worth it, because they look so amazing when they hand quilted. Yours is just gorgeous!

Thanks all. :-) I may keep this one. Yes, I love the look of hand quilted but it does take a very long time to do.

I just put the fabric for the next one into the wash! I can only do one thing for so long and then need to do something else.

do you attach the top of the quilt to a LONG leader so you can roll that instead of the top row? if you do that, it frees the top blocks for stitching without you trying to reach so far away.
