I have been on an America Quilt kick! A coworker is getting married and I made a picnic throw quilt in red & white with bandana border, and a pieced back. The blue star fabric on the back had a flaw in it (which I didn't see until sewing on the buttons to tack the front - DA.. IT!) but took it as an opportunity to add more personality and appliqued stars over the affected area. Also thought I could could use the stars for a label area. Will add this to a picnic basket with goodies another coworker is putting together.... I think they will really enjoy it!

What a neat idea, and great add-on with the label idea!

Sniff...I wanna play Bunco with you.

I love these gifts you're making. And it was brilliant to add the stars to hide the flaw. Your friends will fight each other to win these! :)

Very nice! I love it, in fact I am in the proces of planning an Americana Quilt myself. My SS helped me purchase some fabrics the other night to go with what I already had and I can not wait to get started. Unfortunatly its #4 on my list of quilts to make. But hey thats closer than it was.
