Applique WIP
#1
I finally decided to try applique and here are a couple of quilts I am presently working on. I need to have a bunch of projects going all the time or I get too bored so I switch between all the things I have on the go and I actually manage to get things finished. It might take time but these will get finished!
The first one is called "All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir". I still have to finish raw edging some of the animals and then sew this piece to another to get a border on which there will be tree branches going all around with lots of leaves. The title will also be appliqued and I want to print the words to the song and attach it to the back of the quilt. I also have to handpaint all the faces and features on the animals. there are also some more animals in the outer border.
The second one is an Alien Quilt I recently started. There are lots of layers of batting in this one. All the aliens get batting behind them and then they get sewn onto the background and then all the rings get a layer of batting. Then the circles get sewn on and they get batting and then the borders get the same treatment. I haven't yet made the rectangles and triangles that get appliqued onto the borders but in the baggies are over 300 circles of various sizes rangin from 1" to 9" that will fill up the centre panel of the quilt around the aliens.
Sorry for such a long post but hope you like the pictures.
