This was my first effort at applique'. I think it'll be fun to do once I work through some of the kinks in joining pieces.

I heard you in chat talking abt boot blocks.............I must be dense......a boot really is a boot and that is really cute.........that is good.........now are there a buch the same or will they be different....thats great :D Can't wait to see more Ruth

Each person in the guild who took the background fabric and a pattern is doing one block. I may make a couple more just to practice a little more. We turn the blocks in at the next meeting and then one of the ladies has volunteered to put them together. I expect it will be a pretty eclectic mix when it's finished. They will auction it at an art festival here in April. The festival's focus is Texas or western art. I'm anxious to see some of the other blocks myself. I'm new to the guild so don't really know if they are traditional or what.

I love it! Very whimsical :D You did a wonderful job, I love your fabrics and colors :D I could see a wonderful quilt if you chose to continue making them on your own! :D :D :D

That is so cute, I love the way you've fussy cut your red fabric to get the motifs in there. Well done on your first attempt at applique :thumbup:
