The arithmatic of scraps !
#66
Its much easier to use foundation for strip piecing. Any old cotton fabric will work. Thin, cheap, muslin works, or you can even use your used dryer sheets. Just don't use new ones cause the softener in them will gum up your needle. Just sew and flip strips diagonally as you go, and then square up the sheet when you are done covering it. Any old fabric will work and I sometimes use light weight interfacing. If I'm using up an ugly print fabric, I usually use the back side up, so nothing shows thru any light colored strips. I also cut my foundation squares one inch larger than the size of my finished blocks, cover them with strips, press well then cut them down to the unfinished size I want.

I don't complain no matter how the little devils multiply. I don't have to feed or clean up after them. I've yet to see a kid, husband, or any pet I can say that about! LOL They make me happy and I love them! Oh, and Grabba, I love your quilt, too. Looks so pretty and snuggly.

too funny. Logic says that the scraps should get less, but it doesn't take in the expanding universe theory. Plus they are multiplying every time you turn your back on them. Heaven forbid you should turn off the lights. LOL
