Default Art Piece - Cat-tails in the Swamp

I spent a lot of time this summer learning to paint my own materials. This is the second piece that I let dictate what it was going to be. The cat-tails them selves are needle punched silk cocoons. 22"x17". For a modest size, this one gave me a lot of restless nights.
Maybe now I can get back to my Dear Jane and all the other things that sat.

Oooh, that is a lovely piece. I love the Asian feel of it. It must have taken a very long time to complete. It is truly beautiful.

Beautiful marsh land and cat tails. That detail of making our own fabric coloration is really key in your lovely hanging.

It is beautiful. You did a fantastic job. You give me inspiration. Perhaps some day I will try thread painting also.

Gorgeous! I think I might rename it cat-tails in the wet lands or similar. "Swamp" to me indicates stagnant and smelly.
