Well here it is; another cyber-dare.... It took me 15 minutes to turn the bag inside out, wash with laundry detergent and sun dry. Another 15 minutes assembling it, but I didn't measure anything, just cut and zig-zagged everything. It is permeated on the inside with a greasy residue, which has coated my sewing machine. It still smells. I challenge anyone else to this project. In my opinion, a complete waste of 30 minutes. If someone were to send me something in a recycled dog or cat food bag I would mark the package, "Refused. Return to Sender." It is that gross to me. I would be insulted.

I wondered about about the smell and residue also...
Thank you for letting us know how this didn't work out so well!

Try turning it inside out again and dousing it with a degreaser. Use the hose on it and let sun dry...line with a garbage bag to prevent any leftover odors.....or just toss out....   better yet you can just use it to collect the "deposits" from the dog...

I wondered the same about my cat litter bags, they are the same kind of material. We go through two of those a month and it seems like there should be something we could do with the bags.

It's really cute, but the smell would bug me too. What a great way to recycle though!

Ahhhhhhh thats okay I'll take your word for it. It is cute and I am a dog freak but I think I'll make mine out of material.
Thanks for posting that. I won't waste my time.

Oh I think it is soooo cute!! I would use one! But I would use Dawn to get rid of the greasy feel and then you could seal the inside with a coat of spray polyurethyne.Once dry that will kill the smell. I love it!!
