Baby Cot Blankets
Just finished two baby cot blankets for my new expected grandson due somewhere mid April.
I used flannel, the first one is patched from a bundle of fat quarters and bordered and backed with a coordinating aby stripe border flanel fabric. I sandwiched a think batting between the front and back layers and quilted in the ditch and straight stitch quilting with the walking foot. I machine embroidered a quilted baby design on each of the plain blue squares.
The second blanket is made from a flanel panel, backed and bound with coordinating fabric. Again I sandwiched a thin layer of batting in between. I used the walking foot to quilt the straight lines and then I free motion quilted around the printed baby designs. I added free motion stars and hearts to the plain areas.
