Default Baby Log Cabin & Patchwork Puzzle Ball

When our DIL was pregnant a few years ago with our first grandchild we decide to make a quilt for the baby. We had some alphabet material that we loved and wanted to use so decided to go log cabin. Unfortunately there were three different block sizes so I had to figure out how to make each fit in the block and feel we succeeded. We chose non gender colors and when our grandson was born they loved it.

I have subsequently decided to make a patchwork puzzle ball from Jinny Beyer from scraps of each quilt we ever made and keep a display basket in our foyer so that when I see any ball I will know that came from a certain quilt and will always have a record. The balls don't always use every color but enough do get used to identify the quilt.

Hope you enjoy.

In a few years you'll have more balls than the foyer can hold....then what? Just kidding, of course. I love the puzzle ball. and have to try one. Is there tut?

The baby quilt is beautiful...beautiful colors.

Love the quilt and the ball is a great idea for keeping memories of all your quilts. I've made string blocks using the fabrics from each quilt I've made. Someday, they'll all be put into one quilt.

Beautiful quilt and I love the idea of the fabric balls. I can just see those grandbabies in a few years with all those fabric balls you will have made. They will have a ball!!
