Before I was born my great Aunt Rose make my mom a quilt for her to use for me. Once I was born she added my name ,birth and her name. As you can see one on the gray square centers are missing. I was going to replace it BUT was told not to it would devalue the quilt Is this true? If you look close in the left hand corner I crocherted a small doing and put her picture in the middle . I just love the quilt.I was born Sept 1950.

Are you planning on selling it??? Probably not, then the value is really what it means to you. Fix it so you can enjoy it and more damage will not be done. Fixing it only adds to the story of the quilt.

I will NEVER EVER sell it. I just HOPE my DIL or even GD will want it when I leave this world. Its too special for me to ever part with. Its the only thing I even have from my childhood.

What a wonderful heirloom to have. I tend to agree with Parrothead.

It's your keepsake. If you wish to repair it then go ahead. And it's a wonderful keepsake-she was a great aunt to have!

I love it! The colors and pattern are serene. Great story. Repair it or not to suit yourself. You aren't going to sell it anyway. Maybe pin a note with care instructions and it's history on the back. Thx for sharing!

Oh I love it too!!! Don't worry about the value. That's just for selling purposes.
I had an Aunt Rose who was a treasure. Not a day goes by that she doesn't run through my mind :)
