I too like the pillow. I've been collecting vintage linens and hope to use the embroidery and lace in as the centers in a crazy quilt.

The quilt is absolutely adorable.....too cute for words....and as for the pillow - i think you are being way to critical of yourself. I think it's beautiful - and don't see a "shield" at all.
