Wow--I have been on vacation for 2 weeks, I think it will take me 2 weeks to catch up!! I spent my time camping, and as always took lots of quilting/sewing stuff with me. Mostly I made recycled shopping bags from cat food bags, but I also started a quilt that I've had the fabric around for years!! Of course everyone wanted to bring me something to mend!! So I resuced my great niece's "Russ" doll, and the stuffed dog my granddaughter has had since she was 3. Never enough time to get the things done that I really wanted!!

That is what Grandmas and great aunts do. Just love when someone asks if I can fix something.

Ah welcome back from a fellow camper. Rescuing those treasures matters more than any new quilt you could ever make. Enjoy what you do and remember it's susposed to be a vacation.

Yes, I am curious about what kind of cat food bag you use to turn into grocery bags. I've been called a bag lady before, and would love to know how you are doing this, if you would care to share? Please?????

I made a very durable tote from the woven type of cat food bag (25 lbs). Cut off at the depth of bag you want. Fold a strip (with edges to the inside for comfort). Stitch to bag at desired length for carrying so it doesn't drag when loaded. I have more planned using dog food bags. My daughter-in-law's friend wanted my first one.

Sounds like a great idea, but the only pet food bags we have here are layers of paper and plastic. Very sturdy, but not reusable. I'll have to stick to recycling jeans into bags. (smiling)
