The is a work in progress-still have to figure out what to do for the border. The patterns were created by Frances Leate from Cairns Craft Centre and the rest was up to us. I chose to do mine in all hand blanket stitch as against needleturn-I find doing blanket stitch by hand very relaxing. The ship in the middle has been personalised with the name Mary Ann which my husbands family came out to NZ on one of the early fleets and settled in Nelson in NZ. The block with the blue butterfly (close up shown) represent the Ulysses Blue Butterfly which is a symbol in the Tropics up here in Cairns so I figure I will add a few more personal touches in the border-it is a work in progress. Hope you enjoy.
