Default Whale watch quilt

My client Rosanne took her daughter on a whale watch. her little girl was thrilled and fascinated by the whales, the sea, the lighthouses--the whole experience. Rosanne decided to make her a quilt to remember the experience. This is that quilt.

It's divided into threee sections-- the sky, the sea, and the shore. She embellished it with seahorses, fish buttons, coral made from bugle beads, an appliqued mermaid. Maybe you can spot the red and white lighthouse at the bottom.

I quilted simple curvy lines to simulate a streaky sky and moving water, and a few pools and eddies.

I think her daughter is going to be surprised and thrilled all over again when she sees her new quilt!
