I made this pincushion this morning; I'm finding smaller projects are a great way to practice my free motion quilting! I was trying out hearts and loops here (yea, need *way* more practice!) I used a different foot on my machine 'cuz I was too lazy to get out my hopping foot - won't make that mistake again :-)

Pattern is from The Pattern Basket

    Good job!
I'll bet you are feeling more free and excited after such a successful project.
We are so proud of you!
And, I like that "lesson learned" about the hopping foot.
Just think of what you would have produced if you had changed the feet!
How big is your pincushion? And, what did you fill it with? Was it your own design?
I just enjoy seeing all creativity displayed on this list.

Aww, I think you just want me to send it along with that quilt!

It's a big one, a little over 7" high and a little over 13" around - I'm starting on a hand quilting project and wanted one big enough to put a bunch of threaded needles in. I just stuffed it with Polyfill, since I have other emerys around. Not my design; the pattern is from The Pattern Basket. It makes 2 from 2 layer cake squares and a strip - I just finished the twin

I use a Designer 1, and the embroidery foot is what they suggest for free motion quilting - I've always used the hopping foot, but decided since this was a small piece I'd give it a try. Let's just say the hopping foot is worth what it cost and then some

So, I am thinking ... the sending quilt part WITH the pincushion is a no-go, eh?
oh, well ... better luck to me next time ... LOL

AWESOME!!! I personally think you did a fantastic job with your FMQ, even without the little hoppy type footy thang.
