I agree. I think if you had used a gray in the sashing it would have made it look a bit washed out. The contrast of the white really does make it pop. And ties in the #3.

I think most of us have made things we didn't like. At least you finished it! I have had the same feelings and put the project away for awhile. One quilt that I did I hated too...after a couple of months I took it out and finished it. It wasn't so bad the second time around. LOL Sometimes it's difficult to get the vision in our head to match the project in our hands. If you still feel that strongly about it, it's good that you are shipping it somewhere and not having it nearby to remind you each time you look at it how much you hated working on it. :) Now's a great time to plan that next project!

While you may not like it due to it not being EXACTLY what you wanted... it is a very nice quilt and the recipient will love it!
