A few weeks ago (boy am I slow or what?) I posted about doing my February wall hanging. I got it from Joannes and it was a few firsts for me including the binding.

As you can see from the pics below, the binding did not work at all on the February one :)

Then I got the March wall hanging and even did some hand stitching around the shamrocks. This time, the binding worked a little bit better. Nothing close to what I see on the board, but I am a little proud that it actually did work out. Just don't look too close!

Now, I think I am going to take my pink and purple blanket apart, fix the seams that have ripped, and redo the back. I am trying to convince myself to bind that one, but I don't know if I am up for that yet. Right now, it was put together and flipped inside out, no binding at all.

Thanks for looking!!!

I really like your February and March project. Your first quilt looks better than my first one. Good job!

I think your binding looks great!! But if you are unsure with yourself, I used this tutorial to do my binding:

http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2...-tutorial.html

And I have LOVED the way mine have been coming out since then. It does take practice though, my corners are still horrible, but, hey I figure the day I make a perfect quilt is the day I will stop quilting, so I hope it never happens!!

Cheers!

My aunt said to photograph everything. I tried but sometimes the photos were terrible and the quilts given away or I was in just too much of a hurry and forgot to photograph.

Now I can see that my photographing is much improved and maybe it's okay some of the first quilts weren't photographed in perfect light or focus LOL but best of all when I look back I'm surprised at how brave I was.

You have already done some applique, applied the binding by machine, did some hand quilting, and the pink and purple quilt looks like you did a "pillow case" finish and didn't apply binding at all! That's a great start!
