Birth of a quilt
Some time ago a picture of a beautiful quilt was posted, called Ode to the 1930's. I purchased the pattern. My mom was born in 1924 and grew up in the 30s, she loved bright colors, flowers, birds and handcrafts. I'm sure she would have loved the design! She died 14 years ago and I still miss her very much. I'm going to call my quilt Ode to my Mom and I thought it would be nice to share the progress of this quilt with you all. I hope you like that too.
Here are the blocks I made yesterday:
and this one I made today. The applique block was too small due to pilot error I didn't read the instructions too well before starting
I'm going to take my time as I do have other projects too

Thank you all for your lovely comments! Yes, lots of memories, some make me sad but most make me smile
@dlong: it was part of the block so I had to redo it but I could use the leaves again so it wasn't a big problem.
Here's the last block for today: Martha Washington's Wreath. I found out I don't like needle turn applique so I fused the parts and when all applique blocks are finished I will stitch them on my machine.
