Here's what I've been working on for the last month. I saw this quilt at a local quilt show and decided to make a copy. I've made this quilt for my daughter and her husband's holiday auction. It's machine pieced and quilted except for a little 'big stitch' hand quilting around the stars.

That is soooo GREAT, Yvonne. The blues are such a compliment to the flags. Makes me feel proud just looking at it!

That's really wonderfu Yvonne. For a simple layout, that sure turns out stunning! You did a beautiful job on it. I would love to make one of these too. I have relatively nothing for the 4th in terms of decorating, and this would be just the thing!

Thank you one and all. As Shelly mentioned in another space it means a lot to have these positive words. They encourage me to move on to the next project on the cutting table.
Sara, there is no bigger compliment that having my work called a "real" quilt. I too was blown away by the international winners. My first thought was to go throw out all of my attempts at quilting! Reality check, please!!! Thanx!
Lin, this is a pretty easy quilt to make. No pattern really needed! Go for it. It is satisfying and good practice (for me) in using lights/darks!
    Thank you all again.
Now time to catch up on the B-O-twice a-M blocks.

Just gorgeous! Your design and quilting skills amaze me. I bet that quilt will be hard to part with! You're so generous to donate it.

I loved how you used a medium now and then in both the light and dark strips Yvonne. It really catches the eye! I'll have to remember that when I go to make my own.
