So I seem to be putting a lot of block together with no apparent reason... Other than maybe trying a new bllock or method. The other day a used these fabrics I have had for years. Now I am wondering what color border would look good. I seem to lean towards black all the time and maybe I need to branch out??? Should they have a fabric in between, is that called sashing? Thank you.

I don't think I would add sashing- it seems like the design already includes it with the gold and red. I might add another strip of gold/red on the sides that end up without them.

I'd border with a narrow strip of black (like 1 inch) and then a wider strip of the red. About the same width as the red square. I think that would make it pop.

Very cute quilt!

I would go with the gold. It is nice and bright. Since there is black on the inner section, you do not want to have too much of it.

I started to say you already have sashing until I realized it was your floor. :). Thank goodness cause I wasn't liking your choice of sashing with those colors. I can be a little slow. I don't think it needs any sashing the colors seem to work well together as for a border I'm not sure.

This gets my vote, too. Great job on the blocks. I love the crow fabric! Please post a picture when it's all done.
