Solids have it here; try doing two or three different sized borders to really showcase the pieced portion. The completed quilt will be lovely.

I think it would be beautiful to use the dark blue for the first border then a wider white one then bind with multi. But what do I know...

The dark blue that stands out in some of the star points immediately came to my mind. Just a simple strip of that blue would finish it perfectly.

Solid and then a pieced border if you would like. Sometimes we need a place for the eye to rest.

suggestion: a narrow dark plum border, surrounded by a wider palest blue. Do you know what color the nursery walls are painted? And if the baby is a boy or girl?

I agree with the multiple solid borders using some of the fabric from the quilt. It's a beautiful quilt, the baby/Mom will love it.
