Last week I got a great haul from the New to You charity/donation shop.

Some of the fabric was an outdoors type upholstery canvas but I thought it was pretty cool and couldn't wait to try it out. I have some other fabric in different color stripes that I'll use later on.

I got a couple of the stripes crooked but oh well, it gives it personality. Since they are going to be gifts and not for sale, I don't think anyone would be that picky. If so, then hey, I like this one, so they can just re-gift it to me.

Left off the bows on the sides and shrunk it down a little bit from the regular pattern. Think I like this size better too. Don't know if I'll add the ribbons on the sides or not...depends on the reviews from my office critics tomorrow.

Did some detail stitching that I think really highlights the gold. It might not even make it out the door the more I think about it. Guess it will depend on how many I get done compared to how many I need (the ole supply & demand theory)

I wear mostly jeans to work and pretty much plain colored shirts. Since I don't carry my purse with me all the time, it won't matter too much as it will be sitting on my printer stand at work.

I looked at the tutorial on here (just pictures) and it helped me out so much. I actually had looked at it several times and on youtube for some before I bought the pattern.

I'm still "playing" with the pattern and switching it up as I think I want to. I have at least 14 to make between now and Christmas so I don't want to get bored with them.

I also need to work on a DGD quilt as the baby will be here in mid April...no pressure since the last DGD didn't get hers until she was almost 2.

You can try it and if you have problems you can always check back here or give me a shout.

I really like how it turned out. I like the look without the ties. Did you still use the FF? Great job

Thank you! I think I am gonna try it next week if I get this quilt done I am working on at the moment. Don't be surprised if you hear from me.

I'm not sure what FF is but I did still use the fleece inside. I don't buy the fusible (costs $1 more) and I don't have any problem with the regular fleece shifting since I use pins.

I do run a few lines of quilting via decorations but other than that, I don't do any major quilting. I run basting quilting on the liner since there are so many stitches when you stitch down the pockets.

Oh and I'm lazy, I just use the smoked plastic on the inside for the pockets, I don't go through the hassle of making the fabric ones.
