Default Boy Scout Quilt

I promissed to make a quilt for a fund raiser our Boy Scout troupe has every year. I got the fabrics early and that is when the troubles started. Coming up with a pattern and ideas for the panel I got was like pulling a tooth. Finally came up with very simple design, no particular pattern, large blocks, and some applique and sashing. Everything was fighting me every step of the way - the thread, the fabric, the machines, the binding (oh the binding was a horror story) - everything. I could not wait to finally finish it. It is finally done, washed and soon it will be handed over to the scouts. This is the first time I am actually glad to see a quilt I made go away. No separation anxiety this time I hope the boys like it and since it will be a part of the Chinese auction, I hope it brings in some funds for the troupe.

It is great and worth the struggles. Good luck with the auction.

Tashana,
It is wonderful! I can't tell you how happy it makes me tonight, on the eve of my own son's Eagle Scout ceremony this weekend.

I am the proud mother of two eagle scouts and order of the arrow also. I like to think it was instrumental in making them successful mature men today. A great organization for youngsters. The quilt is wonderful.

My son just completed the requirements for Life. Only has his Board of Review. He is 15 yrs old and on track to get Eagle by 16. I am very proud id him and he truly enjoys the journey. Of course I help motivate him....when he is awarded Life, he gets drivers ed....when he gets Eagle, he gets a truck. Figurs I better put tbese stipulations in as I waz worried that if he got a truck first and girls came more into the picture, he'd never achieve Eagle. Congrats on your son achieving this level. Is he going to work on the Eagle Palms next?
The quilt is great...I hope the troup raises a lot of $$$$$.
