Gosh, what I used to use (43 years ago) was a safety pin holding a thin baby blanket or cloth diaper over my shoulder.

How things have changed...but even at this date and time I still hear older women trying to convince their daughters that breast feeding was for "Peasants" and were only showing that you couldn't afford to buy milk for your baby!!! My own mother was like that, always on my case when I visited or saw her in town, as if I was going to whip out a boob and cram it in the kids' mouth in front of everyone. She was still ashamed that since she gave birth to me at Grandma's place and in the depression could not "afford to feed the baby correctly," she had to breast feed me!!

Honest, there are still some out there like that!!!

They are great gifts. I am still nursing my son and I made one as well. Spending $25 or more was way too much for less then a yard of fabric on the store bought ones.

I've never seen or heard of a breast feeding cover up. Sad really, that something like this needs to exist.

I know the feeling. My ex mother in law was the same way. I can remember being out in public with her and my son getting hungry. So I fed him...I did cover up out of respect for other people....but she got up and left restraunt because she did not want to be "seen" with a breast feeding mom. before she walked out she told me that I was an embarassment to the family because I was breast feeding...
