This is a friends quilt. Her top was so gorgeous. She wanted flowers in the large background blocks. I did a modified feather wreath with feathers on the outside and small meandering for the flower center. I was able to do it in two different sizes of background blocks and the half blocks. Mainly I was trying to keep the "flavor" of all the quilting the same. I used the same style feather in the outer border and the small border and the HST but in different configurations. So only feathers and meandering were used. I used tone on tone thread matching the background to keep the more flamboyant quilting in the background and let her top shine. After people notice her wonderful colors and her wonderful design, then they can discover the quilting.
