Default Button Box without the buttons

All customer quilts are out the door so now it's time for me to quilt my own tops. This quilt know as "Butterfly Fields" to the local folks is also know as "Button Box" in the Leisure Arts Book "Quick and Easy Scrap Quilts" by Patricia Wilens. I chose Hobbs 80/20 batting and quilted it with what is know as freehand "Terry Twist" stitching. The quilt measures 87 by 106. It is also the first quilt that I attached the binding on with my longarm. Haven't yet stitched the binding to the back but that will be done in the new year. All the background pieces are 3 1/2 inch bits and pieces of different muslins left from prior projects and the "butterflies" are all scraps (some very small scraps) cut at 2 inch squares to sew on the corners of the muslin squares. I know I am very partial, but I love this quilt! Hope you enjoy looking.

I absolutely love quilts with a lot of white in them. What is your backing?

I used unbleached muslin for the backing.

I love this quilt also and find that I am drawn to quilts with a lot of white in them - but have yet to make one! Thanks for sharing, this pattern actually looks like one I might try. Love it!

I have lots of very small scraps. This a wonderful pattern to use them on! Your quilt is gorgeous!
