Well, I did my first zipper. Wow. I definitely needed to do one for me first. it isn't perfectly installed, but i think I have it down for next time.

I started with the bow tuck pattern. Changed the size took off the ties on sides and got rid of the button to ad a zipper.

I showed a friend and now her mom wants me to make 2. I told her to let me get the zipper down pat and then I can.

I used this tutorial AFTER I tried on my own and failed pretty bad. Easiest tut I found.

not exactly what i wanted at first, but I really like it now.

I love it. Now tell me what size is the strip on the side of the zipper?

I made totes for my sister and now she's asking for a zipper. I'm afraid of it. This tute looks like something I could handle.

I got the zipper as 16 inches but bag is only 13ish. But it was poly nylon (not sure what its called) not metal so as long as it isn't too short you can change the size pretty easy.
just remember you can take stitches out. i think I took the zipper off 3 times! LOL
Thanks!

Thanks for sharing, especially the tute. I just may try a zipper in my next tote. You've given me the encouragement to do it.

Thanks everyone. I realize camo is not everyones favorite pattern, but it is really popular in my area. I have orders for 2 more with zippers, 1 using original pattern, and another one not camo with origiinal pattern. Busy Busy busy.

If anyone else wants something made, let me know. I can't do 100's but I can get a 4 or 5 done in a week with work being slow right now.
