I know that lots of folks saw my post Recent Useful Additions to my Sewing Space, and saw the wicker ironing station on wheels.

I now have melted two holes in the top fabric, one on each 'wing', without meaning to. Each occurred when I put my hot iron down on the surface without another piece of fabric in between. There must have been a drop of some substance that melted. But, I have put my iron down the same way on the center section many times, with no melting.

I still like the unit very much, so I'm going to cover it with the silvery ironing board cloth, and keep using it, but I wanted you to know this, if you've decided to look for a similar unit.

Perhaps the covering for the top isn't 100% cotton.

don't u just hate that???? When I purchased a new ironing board..... bought a " special heat resistant cover" for it ( NAVY BLUE, it even matched my sewing room!!) It tolerated the heat well... unfortuantely it faded with the lightest sprizing or starching.... it had to GO!!! drats ..back to the silver one for me..

i agree with lacelady, odds are the fabric isn't 100% cotton.

I was on my way to get one after work today, but the more the day drug on the sorer my throat became and then my ear started to hurt. Now I am here with full on ear infection and strep and didn't make it. It is a cute, cute idea, but it is one of those "signs" I look for that this is not meant for me. Sorry about your grief, I am sure that it is still wonderful and the silver always seems to make things look better anyway.

You're right, the silver will make it look better and more like an ironing station! Hope you feel better soon.
