This is the Carpenter Star top I just finished for a longarm feather class I'm going to take.
Welcome to the Quilting Board!

This is the Carpenter Star top I just finished for a longarm feather class I'm going to take.
Looks like a great candidate for feathers. Nice work on the piecing.
Wow....that's a beauty already!!! Love the colors. Great job. Please post again after you have quilted it in you feather quilting class.

If you want to make God laugh, just tell him your plans......
It is so pretty. I do not do good work in a class or when I am trying something for the first time. I would do a muslin with the star drawn on and then quilt this gorgeous top when I how learned how to form the feathers.

Beautiful quilt, good luck with your class. I can't wait to see it quilted with feathers!

Love the purple. Please post a pic of the feathers when you're done.
It is a beautiful top and will be a beautiful quilt. Good luck learning the feathers.

This life is the only one you get - enjoy it before you lose it.
Great top to learn on. Lots of quilting areas. I wish you great success in your endeavors. Please share your results with us.
The bad news is - time flies.
The good news is - you're the pilot!
I love that! Love the colors!
If a woman's work is never done....why start?
Carpenter's Stars are great for feathers. I did one in "Feathers and Ferns" for my DDIL for Christmas and loved the way it turned out! I did some practice blocks, just like Deb said above, before I actually started on the quilt though...
