Carpenters Star - be careful of color choices!

Here's a picture of the Carpenters Star I worked up. The blue is actually fish, but the black and orange made the fish fade into the background. Pattern from http://www.quiltfrog.com/fourhour.html - and also a post here for 4 hour quilt easy carpenters star). It was easy but they didn't count the cutting time, add 2-3 more hours.

The design is supposed to be 8 squares across X 8 down, I thought 3 inch squares was big enough. BUTTTT! - 3 x 8 = 24, this was just too small. I decided to add another 2 rows, it looks much better. Great design from :

Love it! I want to make a quilt for my dad with this pattern since- he is a carpenter!

It's still a great design...almost like an aquarium in the background...I like it very much.
