Default cathedral window - 50 years later!

I posted a new bedrunner and valance a few days ago and peeking temptingly from the corner of the picture was a cathedral window quilt my grandmother pieced in the 1960's. I used to spend quite a bit of time with her and remember her sitting on the couch - in the winter months only - and working on this quilt. As she got near the end of this long-term project she told me in no uncertain terms that if I let my grandchildren play outside with it she would come back and haunt me! As you can see - it has been given a pride of place and my grandchildren do not go near it! It was made for my mother who had it on her bed for several years, but when she redecorated it came to me.

what a gorgeous work of art! i love the way you have displayed it. in the first picture, it looks like a dress. can you imagine having a dress made from CW blocks?

That is absolutely breathtaking!! Thanks so much for sharing it. I especially love how you've displayed it, to me it looks like a very elegant gown that just flows and flows.

It is a beautiful quilt!! I almost typed 'dress' as that was also my first thought when I looked at it. So glad you have it!
