cathedral window - 50 years later!

The wooden hanger is a bow. Never thought about it being a dress or angel - just a quilt display to me. The weight of it does make it drape nicely. My MeMaw does haunt me if having her words in my head, her model in how I shaped my life and her memories in my heart count. Rarely a day goes by that her influence doesn't show - and she's been gone nearly 30 years. So much of what I do with my grands is based on what she did with me.
However, they will NOT be watching me make a cathedral window quilt!

beautiful I used to watch my mom work on one which has dissapeared so this past year I started one. It is a slow process but very rewarding. I think my 4 children may only get pillows at the rate I am going! You have enspired me to pull out my box of supplies even in this heat!

Jan, I'm so glad that you inherited this quilt. The memories that you have of her & this quilt are what you are cherishing. What you wrote was very touching & your thoughts of her will always be your best ones. I love the way she did it & your display just really sets it off.
For those wanting to make a Cathedral Window, go to youtube. There's several tutes there, some by hand, some by machine. All are interesting.
