I just finished this cute little project. I had bought this material at Walmart in the scrap bin. Think I paid 80 cents a piece for the fabrics. I am practicing Paper Piecing. These Blocks were all Paper Pieced. The quilting is all done by hand. I love hand quilting on small projects. And still working up the nerver to machine quilt. I will get there and make several smal projects in the learning process. lol I hope you like it. Thanks for looking.

Well done! Nice touch personalizing it. I love hand-quilting-that is what I was taught from the beginning and have been doing it for 10 years (and over 35 quilts). I have only quilted a couple of small quilts by machine-trying to FMQ!

That project is so lovely. It really warms up that hallway and looks like summer.
It reminds me of a train trip from Livorno, Italy to Florence. There were miles and miles of sunflowers that had grown enough to be full of seeds and their heads were tilted down. It was a hot, beautiful bright sunny day in early September. That trip is one of my best vacation days ever. Thank you for reminding me that I can make things to remind myself of the great places I've been.

What a great first time piece! Lucky you that you have enjoyed the PP experience. You get such neat results. No matter how many times, I just don't like the process.

Awe such nice comments. I really did enjoy doing this. And I wanted something to get me in the mood for summer. lol I also love cats, have two and a boston terrier. I liked the pattern cause it was called cats in the corner. And when you look at it you see the cat heads in the corners. lol Yet it also looked like a bursting star. I went to a quilt shop about 50 min drive from my house in search of a quilting foot for my machine. Of coarse they didn't have it but I bought a book on paper piecing it has a few patterns. I bought a bundle of fabric and Im going to attemt something from the book. I started it today. The blocks are so tiny it may take me a decade to fo enough for a full quilt. lol But it will be good practice. ha
