I too love the way the three borders (including the white) set off the center of the quilt. I just had a similar experience changing a 7" outer border (of 3) from a barely patterned green which read basically as a solid to a similar green that had a paisley-like pattern of several shades of green. What a major change in the way it looks even though the basic color didn't change!

Brenda - it started out as a Dp9 pattern, but then kind of turned into a Falling Charms pattern (Missouri Star Quilt Co has a tutorial on the Falling Charms pattern).
