Default Charity Quilt from August Retreat

My Fibre Arts group had the chance to do a mini retreat at one member's home on Lake of Bays, near Algonquin Park mid August. The time period offered was much longer but we all decided we'd try a shorter period, a 4 day weekend. (I think we were hesitant to spend an extended time together as this was our first retreat together.) One of our members, who had held the position of Community Outreach Liason in our Guild for the last 2 years, prepped and brought the makings of a small quilt. Our guild donates to our local hospital for children who are victims of sexual abuse. When the children arrive on the ward they are given the choice of any quilt, which is then theirs to keep.
This pattern is called Block Party by Jason Yenter and was copied from a 2005 American Patchwork and Qiuilting magazine.
We finished the top and I took it home with me to quilt and bind. We will present it to the guild at our first meeting in 2weeks. The last picture is the back. We think it turned out rather well.
(Oh, and we all got along famously!!!!)
