Here is the quilt I finished during Tropical Storm Fay. Hence the name Charming Flannel Fay, thanks to Skeat. :D Because of all of the good vibes on this message board and a co-worker I have graduated from quilts as you go to sewing a whole quilt top and sandwiching. Hooray! And I didn’t pin it. Spray basting is the bomb! I did a very simple quilt method and NO puckers!

This quilt is a throw size. It’s the size I am most comfortable making.

Thanks everyone for a wonderful message board!

Deb

Lovely, great job. Isn't that basting spray the best!!! I pinned my first couple of quilts and this is much easier on the back, fingers, time!!! There's no stopping you now!!

Very pretty quilt. Did you use a pattern for the potholders? They are very pretty too.

You did such a great job, and the quilting too! Doesn't it feel great to finish something? Isn't that spray so much better than pinning????? I thought it was the greatest thing whey they came out with that.

Yes, I did use a pattern. The heart is from a quilt as you go book I have. I down sized that block from 12" to 8". The other two potholders came from 101 Fun-to-Quilt Pot Holders by Trice Boerens.

My co-worker who loves to do appliques is trying to talk me into doing an applique. There are a couple patterns in the pot holder book I might try when I'm feeling braver. :D

I have already started my next project. I am using a disappearing nine patch to make an I Spy quilt for another co-worker who we are having a surprise baby shower for on 9/18. So I'm getting off the web now and do some more sewing. :D

Thank you for all of the kind comments.

Anyone how hasn't tryed the spray basting should. The only thing I'll be using pins on is the binding. Another group I belong to has been using Elmer's school glue on the binding. I think I'll stay with pins.
